Feta cheese in filo pastry with Smoked Chili Melefsis honey sauce
for 4 persons
- 2 rectangular feta cheese slices (1 /2-1 cm thick)
- 1 filo pastry sheet
- 1 egg white slightly beaten
- 1 tsp roasted sesame
- Smoked chili Melefsis honey
- oil for frying
Roll out the pastry sheet from the package, which has previously being thawed. Take the feta pieces and wrap them twice on the sheet. Cut each piece, cover the edges inward to form an envelope and brush them with the egg white so that the sheets stick together. Wrap the parcels in cling film and place them in the freezer for at least an hour before cooking.
Prepare the pan with the oil and let it heat up well. Place the cheese directly from the freezer to the pan with the folded edges downwards. Leave about 3’ and turn on the other side until golden. Remove the slice and place it on absorbent paper. Transfer into the plate, pour the Melefsis chili sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
